WILLIAMSPORT - Dorothy Ilgenfritz Wright, 86, of 16505 Virginia Ave. in Williamsport, Md., passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, Md.
Born Tuesday, April 11, 1922, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William F. Ilgenfritz and Margaret Parkhill Ilgenfritz.
Dorothy was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hagerstown, where she was very active in the life of the church.
She was a member of the Town and Country Garden Club, P.E.O. and Fountain Head Country Club, and a volunteer with Planned Parenthood.
Dorothy above all was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Douglas Samuel Wright Sr.; three sons, Douglas Samuel Wright Jr. and wife, Kathy, of Hagerstown, John William Wright and wife, Diane, of Richmond, Va., and Stephen Michael Wright and fiance, Jennie Avila, of Hagerstown; four grandchildren, Kathryn M. Suchy and husband, Timothy, of Hagerstown, Lauren E. Wright of Baltimore, Md., John W. Wright Jr. of St. Louis, Mo., and Michael C. Wright of Richmond; and one great-grandchild, Austin M. Suchy of Hagerstown.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret "Peggy" Stonebreaker.
Memorial services will be Saturday, March 28, 2009, at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 141 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Edward Heim officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.
