HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Harley Moore, 88, of Hedgesville, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Aug. 2, 1920, in Wetzel County, W.Va., he was the son of the late William Leonard and Sarah Ann McCoy Moore.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine P. Byers Moore.

He retired from Fairchild Republic in Hagerstown.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of Johnsontown Church of the Brethren in Hedgesville.

He is survived by two daughters, Donna J. Faith of Milton, Tenn., and Beverly Hildreth of Martinsburg; one son, James L. Moore of Hedgesville; two brothers, John Moore of Pine Grove, W.Va., and Norman Moore of Little Creek, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon O'Lane Shank; one son, Ronald D. Moore; one sister; six brothers; and two grandsons.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. Pastors Dennis Rhoe and Clarence Spangler will officiate. Military graveside services will be in Johnsontown Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Hedgesville.

The family will receive friends today from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
