Comedy tour set at Broad Axe



The Broad Axe will host Ladies Night Saturday with comedians Alex Powers, Nina C, Ms. Trinae, Ravdiva and Corey Monroe.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the show starts at 9 p.m. Admission costs $15 at the door, $10 in advance. Call 240-367-5052 for tickets and more information.

Card party planned at Women's Club



The public is invited to a charity card party to benefit Holly Place at the Women's Club Wednesday, April 22, at noon.

The event will include lunch and card or board games. Tickets cost $12 and reservations can be made by calling the Women's Club at 301-739-0870.

Nonfood collection to be held Saturday



Democrats for Positive Change will host a nonfood drive Saturday at the Democratic Central Committee Headquarters, 245 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Residents are asked to bring household cleaning products, baby products, personal-hygiene products for men and women and paper goods.

Residents can also drop off office supplies for The Salvation Army of Washington County.

Women's and children's items will be donated to The Salvation Army's women's and children's shelter in Hagerstown. All paper goods and items for men will be donated to the men's shelter.

Ravens Nest offering scholarships in area



Tri-State Ravens Nest No. 12 will award three $1,000 football scholarships as well as a "True Grit" scholarship in June.

Applications for these scholarships may be obtained from the guidance counselors in each of the high schools in Washington County, Franklin County, Pa., and Berkeley County, W.Va. The applicant must have been accepted or will attend an accredited university or junior college. Deadline for submitting applications is March 31.
