Garden club

Clear Spring Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting at St. John's UCC Thursday at 7 p.m.

There will be a presentation by three members who traveled to Vermont last summer to visit Tasha Tudor's gardens. You can sample and learn to make lotion made from beeswax, herbal infused cooking oils, fruit cordials and goodies made from Tasha's recipes. The club will also be doing a special make it/take it in which participants will dye Easter eggs in natural dyes.

Bring along a couple of eggs. The eggs can be raw or hardboiled. If you do use raw eggs, they can be blown out before or after they are dyed and then kept indefinitely.

Did You Know?

Did you know that on Jan. 3, 1935, a meeting was held to organize a fire company for the town of Clear Spring? The first fire hall was rented from 1935 until it was bought in 1938. The fire hall was where Town Hall now sits. It was used as a fire hall until 1948, when it was sold to the Town of Clear Spring.
