FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - William Paul McFadden, 78, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, March 21, 2009, at his home.

Born June 10, 1930, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late James and Elizabeth Kelly McFadden.

He was a 1948 graduate of Northeast Catholic High School for Boys in Philadelphia.

He was an international representative for the Graphic Communications International Union, retiring in 1992.

He served with the U.S. Navy Seabees during the Korean War.

He was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Orrtanna, Pa., and a former member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg.

He was a member of Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, Chambersburg, and Joe Stickell Post 15 American Legion in Waynesboro, Pa.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores "Lori" Campbell McFadden, whom he married Nov. 24, 1951; two sons, William P. McFadden Jr. of Annapolis and Robert J. McFadden of Lorton, Va.; one sister, Elizabeth McFadden of Philadelphia; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by one son, Brian J. McFadden; one sister; and four brothers.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg. The Rev. James R. O'Brien will be celebrant. Private burial will be in Columbia Gardens, Arlington, Va.

There will be no viewing.
