Amber L. Cooper, daughter of Howard M. and Hope L. Cooper of Sharpsburg, has enlisted in the Maryland Army National Guard, a Reserve Component of the U.S. Army.

Cooper, a health specialist, is assigned to the 58th Brigade Combat Team, Towson, Md.

Cooper graduated in 2007 from Boonsboro High School.




Megan R.C. Rall, daughter of Sara E. Rall of Sharpsburg, has enlisted in the Maryland Army National Guard, a Reserve Component of the U.S. Army.

Rall, a health specialist, is assigned to the 58th Brigade Combat Team, Towson, Md.

Rall graduated in 2007 from Boonsboro High School.




Department of the Air Force Civilian Jacqueline A. Rogers, sister of Jane Rogers of Hutchinson, Kan., and Joseph Rogers of Frederick, Md., has been assigned to the Air Reserve Personnel Center in Denver, Col.

Rogers, a contracting officer with 20 years of military service, will oversee two large contracts as a contracting officer. She was previously a contracting supervisor at Youngstown Air Reserve Station.

Rogers is a 1965 graduate from Southeast High School, Wichita, Kan., and received a bachelor's degree in 1986 from Wichita State University. She earned a master's degree in 1994 from Webster University, St Louis, Mo.




Army Pvt. India C. Gonzalez, daughter of Leslie Gonzalez of Walkersville, Md., and niece of Cassandra Elliott of Fayetteville, N.C., graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

Gonzalez is a 2007 graduate of E.E. Smith High School, Fayetteville.




Army National Guard Capt. Charles H. Holmes, son of Harold and Helen Holmes of Middle Road, Skowhegan, Maine, participated in the 56th Presidential Inauguration on Jan. 20 as part of the largest-ever contingent of National Guard members to serve in Washington, D.C.

Holmes is a company commander with the 128th Brigade Support Battalion based in Dundalk, Md.

His wife, Rachel, is the daughter of Tommy and Faye Marks of Mount Airy, Md.

Holmes graduated in 1995 from Skowhegan Area High School, and received a bachelor's degree in 2000 from the State University of New York College at Potsdam. He earned a master's degree in 2002 from Troy University, Ala.
