Pa. fire being investigated

March 23, 2009

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Firefighters spent four hours Monday at a fire in the 5000 block of Sheller Road in Guilford Township, Pa., in Franklin County.

The fire reached two garages and two outbuildings, New Franklin Fire Chief Scott Bradnick said.

Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and fire when they arrived shortly after 2 p.m.

"The one building was already destroyed," Bradnick said.

Also, electrical wires were sizzling in a tree. One garage contained a 100-pound propane tank and others contained welding tanks, the fire chief said.

A Pennsylvania State Police fire marshal was called to investigate the fire.
