ORLANDO, Fla. - Fifteen members of the Washington County Show Kids and Show Co., and their coach, Brenda Cauffman, represented Washington County at the 2009 Twirl Mania competition.
Twirl Mania is an international twirling competition, which consists of more than 60 teams from around the world and hundreds of girls and boys. The event took place Feb. 13 to 15 at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando.
In the solo portion of Twirl Mania for the "Miss Twirl Mania" title in the respective age groups and levels, Megan Sheehan took the title of "Miss Twirl Mania" for her group and level. Gracie Wiggins, Megan Heller, Taylor Forman, Tasha Kane and Hailey Sweigert brought home a third, fourth-, fifth- and two seventh-place trophies.
The next day the competition was all about marching. The girls were judged during their performance in front of thousands of spectators in the Magic Kingdom's Dreams Come True Parade, where they placed seventh.
