She attended school in Hagerstown.
In earlier years, she had been a domestic worker in the local area.
She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church in Waynesboro and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.
She is survived by two daughters, Priscilla A. Hess and Christina M. Pentz, both of Waynesboro; one stepdaughter, Dorothy L. Barncord of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, Nellie E. Bouder of Waynesboro, Mary Ann Hines of Hagerstown and Nora Mae LaRue of Luke, Md.; two brothers, Dean Bartles and Jacob L. Bartles, both of Hagerstown; two grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Grant M. Bakner; four sisters, Martha G. Miller, Pauline Timbrook, Christina Munson-Blair and Helen Bartles; and three brothers, Paul Bartles, Charles Bartles and David Bartles.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Waynesboro. Pastor Dwan N. Newsome will officiate. Burial will follow in Quincy (Pa.) Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home in Waynesboro.
