GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Jean E. Gaughan, 87, formerly of Heritage Hills, died Friday, March 20, 2009, at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chambersburg, Pa.

Born July 19, 1921, in Moorefield, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Earnest Mongold and Mary Shoemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Gaughan, in 1988. They were married in 1984.

She was a graduate of Moorefield High School.

She worked for Bell Telephone Co. in Cumberland, Md., retiring as a supervisor after more than 33 years of service.

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Douglasville, Pa.

She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

She is survived by one daughter, Terri Brust of Greencastle; one son, Charles Robison of Greencastle; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home in Greencastle.

Burial will be private in the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church Cemetery, Douglasville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Immaculate Conception, B.V.M. Church, 905 Chestnut St., Douglasville, PA 19518.
