Student wins Teen Court logo contest

March 20, 2009

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. -- It only took Kalee McClure one day to draw the winning artwork selected for the Morgan County Teen Court logo.

At Thursday's Morgan County Commission meeting, Kalee, 16, an 11th-grade student at Berkeley Springs High School, was awarded a $50 prize from the commission.

Kalee's mother, Milee Leleux, said Kalee is interested in studying advertising and commercial art after she graduates next year.

Charlie Willard, teen court coordinator, said the logo was one of six entries in the contest. Kalee's blue and gold design will be used on all of the teen court forms and stationery, he said.

Willard said more than 30 students from Berkeley Springs High School and Warm Springs Middle School volunteered to participate in the program and training will begin next week. He said the first teen court will take place at the end of April.
