March 20, 2009

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Martinsburg hasn't won a Class AAA boys basketball championship in 15 years, but all that could change on Saturday night.

The Bulldogs beat defending champion Woodrow Wilson 58-47 in the semifinals Friday night at the Charleston Civic Center.

Second-seeded Martinsburg (25-2) moves on to face No. 1 South Charleston (26-1), which beat Wheeling Park 71-64 in the other semifinal.

Martinsburg has yet to lose to an in-state opponent this season.

The Bulldogs never trailed, taking a 15-5 lead after the first quarter and 29-14 at halftime. Woodrow Wilson got no closer than seven points in the second half.

Cameron Cato led Martinsburg with 14 points. Isaac Thornton added 13 points and Michael Cole scored 11.

Isiah Walton had 14 points for third-seeded Woodrow Wilson (21-6).
