SHARPSBURG - Marjorie Ann Jamison, 63, of 211 W. Main St. in Sharpsburg, Md., died Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, Md.

Born Aug. 7, 1945, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Anna Louise Waters Jamison of Sharpsburg and the late Thirman Everard Jamison.

She was a teacher at Boonsboro Middle School for 35 years, retiring in 2002.

She was a 1963 graduate of Boonsboro High School, a graduate of Hagerstown Junior College with an associate degree in secondary education, a graduate of Shepherd College with a bachelor of science degree and Shippensburg University with a master's degree in secondary education, and did post-graduate work at Hood College.


She was a member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sharpsburg, where she served on the church council.

She was a member of the Washington County Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Sharpsburg Town Council.

In addition to her mother, survivors include one sister, Debra L. Jamison of Sharpsburg; one brother, Lynn E. Jamison and his wife, Sandy, of Sharpsburg; one niece; and one nephew.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 22, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Md. The funeral home will be open Sunday after 1 p.m. for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 23, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sharpsburg, with Pastor Karen Valentine officiating. Interment will be in Samples Manor Cemetery, Dargan, Md.
