WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Norma Evelyn Rash, 88, formerly of Great Cove Road, and a resident of Penn Knoll Village in Everett, Pa., died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at Penn Knoll.

Born Dec. 28, 1920, in Fulton County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Gaylen Brownie and Catherine Elizabeth Spiker Shaw.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Lawrence Rash, in 1991.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by one son, Lawrence E. Rash of Everett; two half sisters, Delores Lowe of Shepherdstown, W.Va., and Debbie Michael of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Philip R. Rash; three sisters, Anna J.M. Pierce, Marie Weller and Nancy Koogle; two brothers, Jim Shaw and Harold Shaw; and one half brother, Gaylen B. Shaw Jr.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock. The Rev. Tim Close will officiate. Burial will be in Warfordsburg Presbyterian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family requests the omission of flowers.
