King Shrek? Hancock War Memorial Library hosts Family Movie Night with "Shrek the Third" at 7 p.m. Friday. Will the quick-tempered ogre become king?

Show off your pipes or listen to others during try-outs to perform the national anthem for Hagerstown Suns games this season. Tryouts start at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Municipal Stadium. Registration is at 11 a.m.

Quite impressive choir



The choir of the College of William & Mary has performed at a presidential inauguration and twice for Queen Elizabeth II. On Sunday night you can hear them for free at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hagerstown.

Japanese-style pottery



At the Washington County Arts Council on Saturday, meet photographer Joe Campbell who explored of Africa and China and a potter whose work is inspired by Japanese tea ceremonies.
