Course on notary public principles planned

Hagerstown Community College's Center for Continuing Education is offering a notary public course titled "Notary Public Principles and Practices," April 27 and 28 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.,at HCC's Valley Mall Center.

Taught by Joe Cunningham, a member of the National Notary Association and a NNA certified signing agent, the course will cover the principles of notary public appointment, as well as the correct practices and procedures required to operate within Maryland notary law. Topics include the history of notary publics, definitions, responsibilities and duties, and professional organizations available for career advancement.

The course is intended for those desiring to become a notary, as well as current commissioned notaries who want a better a understanding of their appointment. Cost is $89.
