Canine games night scheduled for Friday



Peaceable Paws offers Canine Games Night on the third Friday of the month at 7 p.m.

The cost is $5 per dog/human team and proceeds go to the Humane Society of Washington County.

The next game night is Friday. The games will be tennis ball catch, find it and musical downs.

The dog training center is at 17816 Spielman Road, Fairplay.

Humane Society needs your help



The Humane Society of Washington County is in need of towels for the animals at the shelter.

The shelter is asking for donations of face cloths and full-size bath towels.

Kitten season will be in full swing shortly. With two cats, one with kittens and the other expected to deliver any day, the shelter is preparing for the expected influx of pregnant cats and new litters by month's end.

Women's Club plans indoor picnic



The Women's Club will be have an indoor picnic Thursday, March 26, at 6:30 p.m.

The menu includes three meats, two salads, baked beans, a surprise dessert, along with lemonade and coffee.

The meal costs $15. Entertainment will be by the Sophisti'Cats from Williamsport High School.

Soup and sandwich sale



St Matthew's Church, on the corner of Franklin and High streets, will hold a soup and sandwich sale Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m.

The church will be selling ham and bean, and beef vegetable soups, along with country or baked ham sandwiches. There also will be a bake sale in the church.

There is plenty of parking at the rear of the church.

Basket bingo



The Western Heights Middle School PTSA will hold a basket bingo Sunday at Western Enterprise Fire Hall. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and bingo begins at 1:30 p.m.

The event will include 22 bingo games, raffles, door prizes and tip jars. Baskets will be filled with prizes. Food will be available for purchase.

Tickets cost $20. You must be 18 to play.
