Williamsport grad Wilkes earns recognition

Lettie Wilkes, a 1999 Williamsport High School grad, has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association's Thirty Under 30 Awards list.

Wilkes is the head coach at Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, N.C., a NCAA Division II school.

The award was created to honor 30 of the up-and-coming volleyball coaches younger than 30 in the sport at all levels of the game. Although anyone could make a nomination, the nominee had to be an AVCA member and had to be younger than 30 years old in 2009.
