BOONSBORO - Donald Lee "Bud" Reeder, 82, of 8507 Mapleville Road, and formerly of Main Street, died Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Fahrney-Keedy Home near Boonsboro.

Born Feb. 3, 1927, in Benevola, Md., he was the son of the late Roland Hubert and Isabel C. Martz Reeder.

He was employed for 25 years as a correctional officer at Maryland Correctional Institution near Hagerstown.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He attended Mount Nebo United Methodist Church in Boonsboro.

He was a member of Antietam Lodge 197 AF&AM Masons in Keedysville, Ali Ghan Shrine in Cumberland, Md., and American Legion Post 202 in Williamsport.


He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Leona Mae Kitchen Reeder; one sister, Grace I. House of Hagerstown; two brothers, George A. Reeder of Gaithersburg, Md., and Kenneth Reeder of Edgewater, Fla.; one niece; and one nephew.

Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, Boonsboro. The Rev. Robert G. Brennan will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
