March 16, 2009

Habitat for Humanity of Washington County will hold its 16th annual dinner and auction Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m. at the ARCC at Hagerstown Community College, 11400 Robinwood Drive.

The event will include dinner, silent and live auctions, raffles, 50-50s and games.

There will be more than 300 auction items, including a one-year membership to Beaver Creek Country Club; weekend stays at Savage River Lodge, The Inn at Blue Ridge Summit, Virginia Beach and a cabin in the woods; jewelry; Southwest and Allegiant airline tickets; pottery; seat cushions from past Super Bowls; your name in Susan Donovan's next book; a guided fishing trip; Orioles tickets; golf packages; yoga and acupuncture packages; and a bonfire party with hayride for up to 200 people.

This year's theme is "Home, Home on the Range with Habitat" and participants are encouraged to dress in a Western theme.

Proceeds will help Habitat for Humanity provide affordable housing for families in Washington County. Last year's event raised more than $80,000.
