CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Tiffany Nicholson scored 12 of her 18 points in the fourth quarter to lead top-seeded North Marion to a 66-50 win over No. 4 Martinsburg in the girls Class AAA semifinals Friday night.

North Marion (25-1) advanced to the championship game for the first time since losing to Capital in 2002 in its only previous appearance.

A Hailey Garrett basket midway through the third quarter put North Marion ahead to stay, 32-31. Martinsburg (23-4) matched the Huskies basket-for-basket before fading fast in the fourth quarter.

Nicholson's layup early in the fourth started a 17-4 run that gave North Marion a 59-45 lead with 2:17 left.

North Marion made just 2-of-17 3-point attempts but fared much better closer to the basket late in the game, shooting 48 percent (14-of-29) after halftime. Martinsburg had trouble handling the Huskies' full-court press and it led to several steals and free-throw opportunities. North Marion went 9-of-12 from the line in the fourth quarter.
