Thelma Irene Jackson, 88, of 16505 Virginia Ave., Williamsport, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at Homewood Nursing Home in Williamsport.

Born July 10, 1920, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Mary Lucinda Lynn Sigler.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Milford Golden, in 1956, and her second husband, George McClellan Jackson, on Aug. 30, 2003.

She was a member of Greencastle Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by two daughters, Doris Sharer of Clear Spring and Loretta Montgomery Long of Hagerstown; two sons, Marlin G. Jackson of Carlisle, Pa., and Daniel M. Golden of Hagerstown; one brother, Maurice S. Sigler of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five sisters, Elizabeth S. Ogden, Ida R. Forrest, Pauline Tracy, Anna Sigler and Mary Sigler; four brothers, Charles Sigler, John Sigler, Robert L. Sigler and Glenn W. Sigler; and one granddaughter.


Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Leon Yoder will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at funeral home one hour before the service.
