BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. -- Eva Marie Cain, 90, of Berkeley Springs, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born May 4, 1918, in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Elsie Youngblood Spring.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilbur Sylvester Cain.

She attended public schools in Morgan County.

Prior to her retirement, she worked at Becky Ruppenthal's Warm Springs Restaurant in Berkeley Springs.

She was a Protestant.

She is survived by one daughter, Jean E. Ditch of Burleson, Texas; three sons, Julian Cain, Gayle R. Cain and Donald D. Cain, all of Berkeley Springs; one sister, Juanita M. Truitt of Seaford, Del.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.


Services and burial, in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery, will be private.

The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home in Berkeley Springs, which will open at 9 a.m.
