Toastmasters to meet Saturday for speech contest

WILLIAMSPORT - Toastmasters club members from three states will convene at Williamsport library Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon to compete in the Area 42 International Speech and Table Topics Contest.

Speakers will represent clubs from Hagerstown, Martinsburg, W.Va., and Winchester, Va. They will present five- to seven-minute speeches (for the International Speech Contest) or one- to two-minute impromptu speeches on an assigned topic (for the Table Topics Contest).

The winning speakers will advance to the division level. Contestants in the International Speech Contest could ultimately compete for the title of World Champion of Public Speaking at the Toastmasters International convention in August.
