Contractor sought to mow grass

CLEAR SPRING -- The Town of Clear Spring is looking for a contractor to mow about 1 1/2 acres of grass at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Vice Mayor Steve Blickenstaff said during a Monday meeting that the contract will last from about April to November.

Interested contractors may pick up a bid sheet at Town Hall at 146 Cumberland St. Bids are due April 10.

Noise ordinance mulled

CLEAR SPRING -- The Clear Spring Town Council is considering whether to introduce a noise ordinance that would limit the use of dirt bikes and all-terrain vehicles in town.

Mayor Paul D. Hose Jr. said Monday that town officials have recently received several complaints from residents about dirt, dust and noise.

"We're going to have to look into it," he said.

Hose said the council also might consider drafting an ordinance that would regulate the number of junk vehicles residents can keep on their property.

Aaron Hetzer named outstanding student

CLEAR SPRING -- Clear Spring High School junior Aaron Hetzer received a $50 bond from the Town of Clear Spring Monday for being named the outstanding student for the grading period.

Hetzer said he is considering studying anthropology in college.
