"This is in response to the intelligent person from Washington County that said, 'Thanks for global warming. The windchill was minus 7 degrees on March 3.' If some of you would pick up a book and read about global warming, it can cause an ice age. Please, everyone needs to stop complaining and start reading, and make yourselves smarter." - Williamsport

"In less than a month in office, President Obama has spent more than George Bush ever thought about spending. And he claims he inherited this economy. Well, in the last two years, the Democrats controlled Congress. Before that, George Bush had the lowest unemployment rate of any president in history, and the stock market was booming. Now look where the stock market's gone because the Democrats are voted in. And look at everything that went with the Nancy Pelosi-controlled Congress. So before that, we all had jobs, the gas wasn't too expensive. Everything was pretty good until the last two years when Congress was in. So everybody think about that." - Waynesboro, Pa.

"Concerning the caller asking what happened to the WJAL-TV station, I would like to let that caller know that it went off the air due to a fire. ... So that's why it's no longer on the air anymore." - Greencastle, Pa.

"I saw where Obama's approval rating was at 70 percent. Are you kidding me? Seventy percent are gonna go down on the Titanic, with him not on it. I'm not one of these people. My 401(k) is completely gone, and I do not have any money for my kids' college fund or anything. So if these 70 percent want to go down with the ship, fine, but like I said, Obama will not be on it." - Boonsboro

"I would like to praise Mayor Bruchey with regard to his suggestion on how to handle the repair of sidewalks in Hagerstown. He mentioned two proposals, and both of them, I think most of the property owners in the city of Hagerstown would agree to, rather than pay a $1,000, $2,000 or $3,000 bill to have the sidewalks repaired out of their own pockets ... wonder why the city doesn't do this themselves, since the sidewalks, as I understand it, are public sidewalks and the property of the City of Hagerstown and not the property of the (property owners)." - Hagerstown

"This is pertaining to the lady that gave thumbs down to the county roads of Frederick, Md. In response to that, I'd like to say that Route 40 is a state highway, not Frederick County roads department, which is named roads, not numbered roads. So when pointing fingers or giving thumbs up or down, make sure you have the right agency, and be well noted that Frederick County does a great job." - Williamsport

"To the person who said that the problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of the people's money: But the real problem with capitalism is the top 1 percent end up with all the money, and the 99 percent have one big mess." - Boonsboro

"I am sick and tired of people criticizing President Obama, be it Rush Limbaugh, be it Sean Hannity, people criticizing the man for trying to save this country. Without a doubt, Barack Obama is the greatest president this country has ever had, and I'm sick to death of people not supporting him and trying to obstruct the good things that he wants to do." - Hagerstown

"I wonder, with all the buyout going on, the bailout, why they don't bail Social Security out? They've borrowed and borrowed and borrowed and borrowed so much money, and put IOUs in there, that they owe this and they owe that. Why don't they pay it off while they're paying off all these banks and everything? Maybe we could get more in our Social Security checks that way." - Falling Waters, W.Va.

"I agree with the gentleman trying to tell Del. Donoghue 'no more taxes.' Hopefully Donoghue will read this article and understand that taxpayers need not to pay for the choice of a person that wants to be a doctor. So please, not another tax bill or fee for doctors from the local taxpayers." - Hagerstown

"I agree with the caller about Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly. All they do is shoot out hot air. They need to put a lid on it." - Hagerstown

"I'm one of the citizens of Williamsport here. I voted for the mayor and council and all that. I'm, too, for the recount, and I think they need somebody, the sheriff's department or somebody else, to stand by there and count, doing the count theirself, because something funny is going on about this, because everybody all of a sudden turned their back on McCleaf and he got back in there. I'm sorry, there is fraud somewheres, and it needs brought out. I'm to the citizens of Williamsport, Md., and I am requesting a recount on the votes." - Williamsport
