Hagerstown Bridge Club

The Hagerstown Bridge Club meets Wednesdays at the South End Fire Hall at 12:30 p.m.

If anyone would like to learn how to play, stop by the fire hall.

Soup and sandwich sale

St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, on the corner of High and Franklin streets, will have its soup, sandwich and bake sale Saturday, March 21, from 2 to 6 p.m. Soups will include ham and bean, and beef vegetable. Soup costs $4.25 a quart, $2.75 a pint or $2.50 a bowl. Sandwiches will be country ham and baked ham. Sandwiches cost $2.25.

Discovery Station

Saturday - Patricia Beard will lead a program on St. Patrick's Day crafts, at 2 p.m. at Discovery Station in downtown Hagerstown.

Discovery Station now has a weather station with state-of-the-art technology that provides up-to-the-minute weather conditions online, as well as a daily summary of the weather in downtown Hagerstown.

Movie night

Washington County Free Library will show the movie "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" Friday at 7 p.m.

The movie will be shown in the downstairs meeting room.

The doors open at 6:40 p.m. Use the back parking lot entrance

Hagerstown Lions Club

Tuesday - Mark Barbernitz, the new Scout executive for the Mason-Dixon Boy Scout Council, will be the guest speaker.

Eggs for sale

St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, at 1020 Maryland Ave., is selling peanut butter and coconut eggs.

The eggs cost 75 cents each. The eggs are available Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 to 10 a.m. for pickup or call the church office at 301-739-7431 to order. The last day to order is March 22. The eggs must be picked up by April 8. St. Andrew's will be using all name-brand peanut butter and other ingredients.

Basket bingo

The E. Russell Hicks Middle School Band Boosters will hold a basket bingo Sunday at the Elks Lodge on Robinwood Drive.

Tickets cost $25, which includes 24 games and lunch. In addition, baskets will be raffled and door prizes and tip jars, including King Tuts, will be available. All winning baskets will be filled.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m., lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. and bingo starts at 1:30 p.m.
