GLENGARY, W.Va. -- A mother and her infant were transported to Winchester (Va.) Medical Center with serious injuries following a one-vehicle accident Monday afternoon on McCubbin's Hollow Road, the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department said in a press release.

EMS units from Back Creek Valley Co. 50 arrived to find that the child had been ejected from the vehicle, the release said.

The mother apparently lost control of the vehicle, which struck a tree and overturned, the release said. The crash was reported at 12:24 p.m.
