Glenn Oliver Nicholson, 75, of Hagerstown, Md., died Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at his home.

Born March 20, 1933, in Somerset County, Pa., he was the son of the late Peter Oliver and Mae Elizabeth O'Brien Nicholson.

He was employed by Mack Trucks of Hagerstown until retiring in 1991.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was of the Brethren faith.

He was a member of Dixon-Troxell American Legion Post 211 of Funkstown, Md., Western Maryland Sportsmens Club and United Auto Workers Retirees Association.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years , Patricia Jean Barron Nicholson of Hagerstown; daughter, Kimmy Lynn Armstrong of Hagerstown; son, Larry Glenn Nicholson of Hagerstown; sister-in-law, Carole Ingram of Hagerstown; brother-in-law, Wayne Barron of Hagerstown; brother-in-law, Woodrow Barron of Hagerstown; brother-in-law, Eugene Barron of Waynesburg, Va.; nine brothers and sisters from the Pennsylvania area; and grandson, Ryan Andrew Nicholson of Hagerstown.

He was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and a grandson, Officer Christopher Shane Nicholson.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Md., on Saturday, March 7, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Todd Stroud and Pastor Edward Maliskas officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport, at the convenience of the family.
