GREENCASTLE, Pa. -- Madeline C. Talhelm Hardman, 93, of 265 N. Carlisle St., Lot 14, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Waynesboro (Pa.) Hospital.

Born March 26, 1915, in Shady Grove, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John W. and Jenny A. Sellers Talhelm.

Her husband, Donald L. Hardman, died May 24, 1972. They were married Dec. 23, 1934.

She worked at Gibble's Potato Chip Factory, Kauffman Station, Pa., as a sorter.

She was a member of Clay Hill Union Church, Clay Hill, Pa., where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Greencastle.


She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Myers of Greencastle; one sister, Lorraine Vandrew; two grandsons, Craig Myers and Bill Myers; one great-grandson; one great-great-granddaughter; four nieces; and four nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Harold Hardman; two sisters, Hazel Helmuth and Margaret Louise Koontz; one brother, Harold Talhelm; and one nephew.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, Greencastle. Pastor James Hughes will officiate. Burial will follow in Brown's Mill Cemetery in Kauffman Station.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
