WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Violet Mae Hardsock Polidor, 82, of 10145 Polidor Road, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at Manorcare Health Services, Chambersburg, Pa.

Born Sept. 9, 1926, in Pond Bank, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William M. and Pearl O. Rock Hardsock.

Her husband, David Frank Polidor, died Feb. 6, 2007. They were married Aug. 4, 1950.

She attended Duffield School.

She attended the former Glen Furney Assembly of God Church, and more recently attended Grace Brethren Church, both of Waynesboro.

She was a member of the national AARP.

She is survived by two daughters, Gloria J. Ruggiero of Great Falls, Va., and Cynthia A. Stains of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.


She was preceded in death by one son, David F. Polidor Jr.; four sisters, Margaret Sprow, Edna Book, Virgie Summers and Shelvey Martin; and four brothers, Howard Hardsock, Millard Hardsock, William Hardsock and Leo Hardsock.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. The Rev. Neville West will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Mont Alto, Pa.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
