Ronald F. Slusher, 78, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at Martinsburg Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Sept. 7, 1930 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Harry E. and Gertrude E. Brown Slusher.

He retired as a roofer with Tri-State Roofing, Hagerstown.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War.

He was a member of Funkstown American Legion Post No. 211.

He is survived by one daughter, Rhonda Sisk; one son, David Slusher; and one brother, Robert Slusher of Hagerstown.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Irene Vance Slusher, and four brothers, James L., Vincent W., Harry E. and Oliver B. Slusher.


At his request, there will be no visitation.

Graveside services will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Charles Donivan will officiate. Military honors will be accorded by Maryland National Guard Honor Guard. Inurnment will follow.
