KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - William Thomas Goff Jr., 39, of Kearneysville, died Monday, March 2, 2009, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born Oct. 21, 1969, in Winchester, he was the son of Mary Ellen Carroll Goff of Ranson, W.Va., and the late William Thomas Goff Sr.

He was a horse trainer.

He was a Baptist.

He was a member of the National Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Debra Jean Smith Goff; one son, William T. Goff III of Ranson; three stepsons, Joshua Bryant, Zachary Bryant and Austin Bryant, all of Middleway, W.Va.; one sister, Iris A. Custer of Falling Waters, W.Va.; one aunt; three uncles; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Marcy McKee.

A memorial service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Eackles-Spencer and Norton Funeral Home in Harpers Ferry, W.Va. Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery, followed by a gathering of friends at the Charles Town (W.Va.) Moose Lodge.
