CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Raymond L. Stouffer, 94, formerly of 1050 Lincoln Way West, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Menno Haven, where he resided the past several weeks.

Born Dec. 10, 1914, near Williamson, Pa., he was a son of the late Jasper S. Sr. and Charlotte Berklite Stouffer.

He and his brothers founded Stouffer Brother's Implement Co., now Stouffer's True Value in Chambersburg, where he continued to work until this past year.


He was a member of King Street Church and Burton Men's Bible class.

He was a member of Good Sam Camping Club Penn Wheels 25 in Chambersburg.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline Souders Stouffer, whom he married Nov. 14, 1936; four children, Donna Martin, Betty Kauffman, Leroy Stouffer and Carl Stouffer, all of Chambersburg; one brother, Jasper S. Stouffer Jr.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by six sisters, Ellnora Myers, A. Mae Linn, Mabel L. Baker, Ruth Burkholder, Verda Lehman, and Mary Hutchison; two brothers, Paul L. Stouffer and Harry B. Stouffer Sr.; and one granddaughter.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, Pa. The Revs. Lester F. Stine and Paul B. Baker will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
