Little League

Maugansville Little League will hold registration Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon in the Little League pressbox, above the concession stand.

Any boy or girl age 5 to 18 interested in playing baseball is encouraged to register. If you cannot attend at this time, contact and a time will be arranged to register.

Opening Day this season will be Saturday, April 4, beginning at 11 a.m. This year, after opening ceremonies, the Challenger Division will play their first game of the season.


Maugansville Baptist Church will show the movie "Fireproof" Friday, March 13, at 7 p.m.

The movie is free as well as the popcorn, snacks and drinks. For more information, call Pastor Scott at 301-790-7909.

Card party

The Ladies of the Elks, Lodge 378 on Robinwood Drive will hold its annual card party Monday, March 16. The doors open at 4:30 p.m. Soups, sandwiches, steamers, hot dogs, chips, pretzels and soft drinks will be available to purchase from 5 to 10 p.m. Coffee will be free. A cash bar will be available from 5 to 10 p.m. There will also be baked goods and a candy table. Bring your own cards. The cost is $2. For reservations, call Carolyn Poole at 301-790-1806. Use door No. 6. Door prizes and raffles will be available. This event is for members and their guests. Proceeds will go to the scholarship fund.
