CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Bob Harrison has been chosen to portray Benjamin Franklin during the 225th anniversary of Franklin County.
The Franklin County Visitors Bureau held three casting calls for men to portray the county's namesake at events.
Harrison, of Chambersburg, was praised for his knowledge of local history.
Harrison "will allow (the character) to be more visible throughout the county to bring the many aspects of Ben to life," Cece Serino, co-chair of the 225th Commemorative Committee, said in a news release.
Two others -- Michael Levick and Richard Fox -- have been tapped to also portray Franklin. The pair have portrayed Franklin before.
"Ben will not be phased out after the 225th anniversary year concludes but continue to be 'the face or faces' of Franklin County in ongoing (visitors bureau) promotions," said Janet Pollard, director of the visitors bureau.
