McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. -- Harold W. Parson, 70, of 10592 Lincoln Highway, died Monday, March 2, 2009, at his home.
Born Nov. 2, 1938, in Burnt Cabins, Pa., he was the son of the late Walter W. and Ganavice M. Morrow Parson.
He served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War.
He had attended Pleasant Hill Church in Shade Gap, Pa.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge, Seattle, American Legion Post 561, McConnellsburg, and IBEW Electrical Union.
He is survived by his wife, Elfriede Janda Parson, whom he married May 7, 1978; three sons, John W. Parson of Soldotna, Alaska, Keavin Parson of Wasilla, Alaska, and Blair Souders Jr. of Harrisonville, Pa.; two daughters, Susan M. Mellott of Needmore, Pa., and Christine A. Thomas of Dry Run, Pa.; two brothers, Thomas F. Parson of Mount Union, Pa., and Ronald E. Parson of Morristown, Tenn.; two sisters, Barb Hill of St. Thomas, Pa., and Virginia Davison of State College, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
