Paul Herman Ebersole, 90, a resident of Mennonite Fellowship Home, 12349 Huyett Lane, Hagerstown, and formerly of Millmont, Pa., died Sunday, March 1, 2009, at the home.

Born Nov. 29, 1918, in Annville, Pa., he was the son of the late Ammon and Amanda Horst Ebersole.

He last worked at Penns Creek Furniture in Lewisburg, Pa.

He served as a minister and evangelist in the Mennonite Church from 1954 to 2008. He served the church from 1972 to 1978 in British Columbia. He also was assistant principal and teacher at Numidia Bible School in Numidia, Pa.

He was a member of Hartleton Mennonite Church in Millmont, Pa.

He is survived by his wife, Luella H. Risse Ebersole, a resident of the Mennonite Fellowship Home, whom he married July 31, 1941; one son, J. Mark Ebersole of Myerstown, Pa.; two sisters, Ruth Boll of Lancaster, Pa., and Cora Gerber of Dalton, Ohio; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Mohler and Martha Walters; and four brothers, Elmer Ebersole, Ammon Ebersole, Aaron Ebersole and Norman Ebersole

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Hartleton Mennonite Church, Millmont. The local ministry will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Hagerstown Mennonite Fellowship Church; Friday at Hartleton Mennonite Church from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.; and one hour before the service on Saturday.

The family requests the omission of flowers. Arrangements are by Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, Pa.
