Betty Lee Weigand, 76, of 431 Michigan Ave., Hagerstown, Md., passed away Monday, March 2, 2009, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

Born Friday, Sept. 2, 1932, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Marie Shank.

She was preceded in death by her husband and beloved father of her children, Donald L. Weigand, in 1997.

She was a 1951 graduate of Hagerstown High School.

She was employed as an antique dealer for many years and was also a member of BPO Elks Lodge 378 and the American Legion Auxiliary. Betty was a very strong woman with many friends who lovingly supported her through her years of illness.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Weigand Zeger of Hagerstown; two sisters, Irene Spizzo of Hagerstown and Virginia Snyder of Hagerstown; and several grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Lee Weigand; and a brother, Nick Reeder.

Betty unselfishly gave her body to the anatomical board so that as in life she gave, in death she continued her caring spirit.

Memorial graveside services will be held at a later date at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Washington Commission on Aging, 9 Public Square, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.
