SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Verda B. Lehman, 91, of 64 Musser Road, died Sunday, March 1, 2009, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.

Born Aug. 22, 1917, in Antrim Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Jasper S. Sr. and Charlotte L.M. Berklite Stouffer.

Her husband, Roy K. Lehman, died Sept. 13, 1990. They were married Feb. 23, 1939.

She and her husband owned and operated a farm along Musser Road for many years.

She was a member of King Street United Brethren Church and Buds of Promise Sunday school class, and had been active with the missions program.

She was a member of Franklin County Farm Women Group 7.

She is survived by five children, Harold Lehman and Darlene Ickes, both of Shippensburg, Faye Smith of Vero Beach, Fla., Doris Rook of Macungie, Pa., and Wilma Hutchison of Chambersburg; two brothers, Raymond and Jasper Stouffer Jr., both of Chambersburg; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.


Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg. The Revs. Lester F. Stine and Paul B. Baker will officiate. Burial will follow in Norland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
