'Nit-picking' frustrates mayor

March 03, 2009|By DAVE McMILLION

BOONSBORO - Mayor Charles F. "Skip" Kauffman Jr. expressed frustration Monday night after a member of the town council pointed out that minutes from a recent council meeting did not contain all the comments from a Washington County Commissioner about annexation issues.

Council member Barbara Wetzel said the minutes did not contain all the comments made by Washington County Commissioner Kristin Aleshire.

Kauffman complained about ongoing "nit-picking" over council minutes and said the town's staff does the "best they can" with the official recording of town meetings.

The council agreed that Aleshire's extended comments about annexations could be referred to in the minutes through a statement he later gave to the town over annexation.
