TGIF concert series kicks off this week

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Council for the Arts kicks off its 2009 TGIF concert series from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, March 6, with "O' Be Joyful," a presentation by historical musician Rick Garland, portraying Confederate Cavalry Gen. J.E.B. Stuart. TGIF will be at The Capitol Theatre stage, 159 S. Main St. All performances take place either on The Capitol Theatre Stage or in the Wood Center of the theater. The other performances include:

March 13 - Mickey and Stan Goldhaber, Stardust Ballroom: Dance Tunes of the Big Band Era," Wood Center.

March 20 - Rolling Coyotes, traditional and contemporary folk band, Wood Center.

March 27 - Chambersburg Area Senior High School Symphony, stage.

April 3 - Kerensa Gray, soulful jazz singer/songwriter, stage.

April 17 - Wilson College Choir, stage.

April 24 - Wilson College drama students, Wood Center.

May 8 - Danza Antiqua, historical dance ensemble, Wood Center.


May 15 - Candice Mowbray, classical guitarist, stage.

May 22 - Shalom Christian Academy Choir, stage.

May 28 - Chambersburg Area Senior High School choir and guests, stage.
