FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Gene Bernard "Ted" Schaff, 78, of 64 Michigan Drive in Falling Waters, W.Va., died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at his home.

Born Dec. 27, 1930, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late Sonta L. and Teresa N. Condon Schaff.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He was employed by the Apex Corporation in Winchester, Va.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hagerstown, North American Rod and Gun Club, the American Legion, the National Rifle Association and PADI Diving Society.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Carol Miller-Schaff; one son, Eric E. Schaff and his wife, Janice, of Winchester; one stepdaughter, Teresa Curtis Yost of Romney, W.Va.; one stepson, David Curtis of Winchester; and two grandchildren, Mark Allen Yost II and Chris Peffer, both of Romney.

A memorial service will be Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Collin Poston will officiate.

There will be no viewing.
