The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts is selling raffle tickets for its upcoming drawing. Grand prize is a $9,000 shopping spree at either R. Bruce Carson Jeweler locations; second prize is a framed Jack Perlmutter oil painting, "Beach"; third prize is a Bertram Bruestle original watercolor of the Utica Covered Bridge in Frederick County, Md. Tickets cost $25 each, three for $50 or five for $75 and are available at the museum, R. Bruce Carson Jewelers, and also the museum's Web site, www.wcmfa.org. The drawing will take place Thursday, March 19 at 5:30 p.m.

Donations for used book sale

The Hagerstown Branch of the American Association of University Women is accepting donated books, tapes, CDs and DVDs for its 43rd annual used book sale. Donations may be brought to the Washington County Free Library by Wednesday, April 1. The book sale will be Wednesday, April 22, through Sunday, April 26, at the Washington County Agricultural Education Center. Proceeds benefit the Scholarship Fund for Washington County Students and the Washington County Free Library.

Donations for Paws and Claws dinner and auction

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. -- The Animal Welfare Society of Jefferson County is accepting donated items including artwork, which will be auctioned at the Paws and Claws dinner and auction on Saturday, June 13.
