Man faces trial in fatal I-81 crash

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) -- A Martinsburg man accused of driving drunk and causing an accident that killed a Virginia couple is schedule to go on trial April 28.

Troy S. Bean pleaded not guilty Thursday in Berkeley County Circuit Court to two counts of driving under the influence causing death, one count of DUI with injury and one count of second-offense DUI.

State Police say the 40-year-old Bean was driving a pickup truck that collided head-on with a station wagon on Interstate 81 on Aug. 14. The station wagon's occupants, 80-year-old Howard Diamond and his 70-year-old wife, Nancy, both of Locust Grove, Va., were killed.
