Chewsville Lions Club to meet Tuesday

February 26, 2009

The Chewsville Lions will meet Tuesday, March 3. A new member will be installed and Lion Richard Leibno, a candidate for first vice district governor of 22-W, will visit the club.

The club would like to thank all those who purchased its ham sandwiches during its recent fundraiser. The club will be taking orders for Joe Corbi's pizzas, cookie dough, pretzels, calzones, dog treats, cinnamon rolls, pies and cheesecakes. The tentative delivery date is in late April. See any Lions member to place an order or call Lion Warren Middlekauff Sr. at 301-739-3298. All proceeds go to help those in the community.

Plans are under way for a joint meeting with the members of Boy Scout Troop 62, sponsored by the Lions. A speaker representing the Lions will speak on the organization's interest in eye care and research to improve eye health.

The Chewsville Lions Club meets the first and third Tuesday at Bethel United Methodist Church in Chewsville.
