Basket bingo

The Western Heights Middle School PTSA will hold a basket bingo Sunday, March 22, at Western Enterprise Fire Hall. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and bingo begins at 1:30 p.m.

The event will be include 22 bingo games, raffles, door prizes and tip jars. Baskets will be filled with prizes. Food will be available for purchase.

Tickets cost $20. You must be 18 to play. Tickets will be on sale at the school cafeteria today on Family Night from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Hoop shoot

Winter Street Elementary students in second, third and fourth grade participated in a hoop shoot contest recently.

Student winners by class are: fourth grade, Ms. Bikle - Keandre Johnson; fourth grade, Mr. Orndorff - Delwin Cosia, Brianna Mills and Cam Patterson; fourth grade, Mr. Raley - Rhoshima Bromfield, Tyrell Rice and Jordan Weschler. third grade, Ms. Bowers - Jaziria Carson and Jermaine Venable; third grade, Mrs. Coffman - Daijana Applewhite, Derrick Hannah and Damion Reeder; third grade, Mrs. Hill - Xavier Dominguez and Alexis Mills; third grade, Mrs. Stevens - Jordan Harley, Sareena James and Lacey Williams; second grade, Ms. Hardy - Steven Billman and Kabrina Wright; second grade, Mrs. Moleskie - Charlie Bell and Saravina Brown; and second grade, Ms. Weese - Rhoan Bromfield and Angelina Reyes.


Division winners: boys 8-9 - Xavier Dominguez; girls 8-9 - Alexis Mills; boys 10-11 - Tyrell Rice; and girls 10-11 - Lacey Williams.

Winners went on to compete at St. Maria Goretti High School Saturday, Jan. 17. Alexis Mills and Xavier Dominguez made it to the championship round. Xavier took second place in his age group, making 18 out of 25 baskets.

Make Me Laugh Comedy Tour

On Saturday, March 7, the Make Me Laugh Comedy Tour will perform at Burhans Station. The tour is hosted by Chad Beadle and features Stacey Carver, Bird Knight, Bill Monaghan, Jay Nuff and Cory Monroe.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and showtime begins at 9 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 240-367-5052. Tickets cost $10 in advance, $15 at the door. For more information, call 240-367-5052.
