Short month lingers

Shall we bid farewell to February? The shortest month of the year, and yet, wow, did it seem to drag on with the temperatures just keeping us begging for spring. Before we turn the page on the calendar, let's make certain that we are not missing anything.

Scholarships available for South High grads

Did you know that the South Hagerstown High School Alumni Association will be giving away two $1,000 scholarships to two South High graduating seniors this spring?

The recipients of the scholarships must have plans to attend an accredited university, college, junior college or community college or a business/technical or vocational school. Applications are available at the SHHS guidance office.

The deadline to submit an application is April 1.

Walk Me Home

The Washington County League of Foster and Adoptive Families is sponsoring a walk to raise funds and awareness for its program.

On Saturday, June 13, the Walk Me Home fundraiser will be held at Hagerstown Fairgrounds Park. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the walk begins at 9 a.m.

Goodbye, February

So we will say goodbye to Febraury. We will hold the door open for March and welcome the nearness of spring and all it brings.

Have a most blessed and productive week.
