BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Freeda F. Shriver, 94, of Berkeley Springs, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at Extended Care Facility at War Memorial Hospital.

Born Feb. 10, 1915, in Mankato, Kan., she was the daughter of the late Jacob Scott Zimmerman and Anna Ethel Barnhart-Zimmerman.

Her husband of 61 years, Thomas F. Shriver, died Dec. 16, 1997.

She graduated as salautorian of the 1932 class of the former Warfordsburg (Pa.) High School.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Ladies Aid Society and taught various classes in Sunday school.

She is survived by three daughters, Kitty Hann of McConnellsburg, Pa., Carol S. Rexroad of Fairfax, Va., and Glendora Diehl of Hancock; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lena Lindsay, Maye McCray and Faye May; and two brothers, Hayes Zimmerman and Royce Zimmerman.

Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Daniel Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Greenway Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Extended Care Facility, Attn. Tanya Manley, War Memorial Hospital, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.

Arrangements are by Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs.
