Two women robbed Susquehanna Bank's branch at Valley Mall in Halfway on Monday, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

The women handed a teller a note and one woman displayed a gun, Sgt. Roy Harsh said.

They left with money, but police aren't saying how much.

Harsh said the sheriff's department was alerted about the robbery shortly before 1 p.m.

The bank was open at the time of the robbery and one customer was inside.

Harsh said police were given the following descriptions of the robbers:

o One was a black woman in her early to mid-20s, about 5 feet 2 inches tall and heavyset. She had noticeable pock marks on her face, possibly acne scars. She wore a black jacket and a black hat that covered her ears. She was the one who displayed a gun.

o The other was a black woman, also in her early to mid-20s, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and a little thinner than the first woman. She was wearing dark clothing and a ball cap.

Harsh said the women left in a car. One witness reported that the car looked grayish-blue and might have had a West Virginia license plate that included NHZ.

The car was seen in the Valley Mall parking lot headed toward Sears.

Harsh asked for anyone with information about the robbery to call him at 240-313-2183.
